In the evening following our Capitol Day, we are hosting a Capitol Crawl in the Uptown23rd district just west of the Capitol where you can hang out and talk with legislators in a more relaxed environment. This month we're focusing on inviting legislators from rural districts. (Yes, you OKC folks are always welcome.) We have a surprising number of people drive in for our events from outside of OKC, and we want to make sure they know they're an important part of making our state a better place.
Here's the plan for the evening:
6-7pm Big Truck Tacos (Legislators: AJ Gay-Griffin)
7-8pm The Pump
8-9pm Rockford Cocktail Den
(All times are approximate. Also, many legislators may be at multiple stops in the Crawl.)
Legislators will be joining us at each stop; we'll update this event with that information as guests confirm. Hope to see you there!
WHAT EXACTLY IS THE CAPITOL CRAWL?
It's just a fun way to meet & mingle with legislators and friends. We're not pushing any particular issues or policies, we just think everyone could use a reminder that all of us - legislators and the public - are just regular people. So come join us, meet some new friends, and raise a glass (or taco or cupcake) to a better Oklahoma!
WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO?
It's like a progressive dinner or a pub crawl. We spend about an hour at each location, eating, drinking, and talking, and then move from one location to the next. Along the way the group usually grows in size as additional people arrive (and others start to see how much fun we're having). Legislators will be there to answer your questions, and so they can get to know you and you can get to know them. Truly, it's a fun time.
DO I HAVE TO COME FOR THE WHOLE TIME?
Certainly not! We'd love for you to come for any or all parts of the Crawl. Everyone's schedule is different; we get that.
