The Walkout Rockout – Friday, April 6 – includes musical performances and speeches by musicians, community leaders and educators in a show of support for Oklahoma teachers and students. Donations will be collected throughout the evening and all proceeds benefit the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma to feed students, families and school personnel impacted by the walkout. This event is free and family-friendly.

“I am so proud of the HD88 community and their support of our teachers and students,” says Rep. Jason Dunnington. “There is no better investment we can make in our future than Education. If the past week has shown us anything, we must be the change we seek.”

The Walkout Rockout will have appearances by Rep. Jason Dunnington, English teacher Regan Killacky, Rep. Cyndi Munson, Rep. George Young, Rep. Emily Virgin and Rep. Forrest Bennett; and performances by Carter Sampson, Campbell Walker Fields, Spencer Hicks, Joel T. Mosman and Beau Jennings.

All teachers with valid ID will receive a $10 Tower Theatre gift card immediately redeemable for refreshments at the bar, free t-shirt courtesy of Oklahoma Shirt Company and free pork or chicken bun from Urbun Eats. Let’s Fix This, Inc., a grassroots nonprofit organization that helps Oklahomans become more informed and involved in politics, will be conducting a voter registration drive and distributing information about how to run for office.
